Benefits of Health and Wellness in Retirement
One of the most important elements of retirement is maintaining a well-rounded approach to health and wellness.
Before I retired, it never really occurred to me how important social interaction was.
Since retiring, I have found many ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle, while still maintaining important social interactions. Social interactions can also help with wellness accountability.
Throughout my blogging adventure, I will blog about what I’ve discovered has helped me successfully manage my health and wellness.
Two of the most important keys to maintaining health and wellness are a sensible diet and exercise.
As my body has aged, I have found that I can’t eat the same quantity. And I am not as energetic as I used to be..
Not being able to do the same activities, I have had to find new ways to stay active. And also find alternatives to maintain a healthy weight and optimal level of health.
In addition to paying attention to your physical well-being, it’s important to be mindful of your mental health too.
Engaging in activities that you enjoy, and that are mentally stimulating is important to your mental health.
I have also found taking time for myself through Yoga and quiet meditation has also helped me considerably.
Sometimes we need to take a deep breath and centre ourselves to get back to who we are. We are then ready to overcome the challenges our worlds throw at us.
I look forward to sharing a few strategies I’m using to lead a healthy and happy life in retirement.
