Research has demonstrated a wide range of benefits of regular meditation. It is now becoming more mainstream and practiced worldwide. Meditation can be beneficial in reducing stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. The other benefits include peace and calmness, and being able to cope with difficult situations.
There are different meditation techniques, and some designed to induce relaxation or compassion. Two techniques I have practised are Transcendental Meditation and lately Mindfulness Meditation.
Benefits of Meditation
- Physical Health
- Slows Ageing
- Lowers Blood Pressure
- Improves Sleep
- Boosts Immune System
Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
- Improves concentration and attention
- Reduces stress
- Boosts feelings of joy and compassion
- Decreases anxiety
- Better emotional resilience
Lately, I became aware of Mindfulness Meditation and found the science behind it very interesting. What I liked most about this type of meditation, is the emptying of negative thoughts. Meditation has helped me “let go” of situations I am not in control off. For more information click here Mindfulness Meditation to access website.
You can practice Transcendental Meditation anywhere. You can practice easily sitting comfortably in a chair, and it only takes 20 minutes. It follows a similar mantra to Mindfulness Meditation.
By practising this technique, you will experience a silent and peaceful level. Transcendental Meditation is completely different to other meditation techniques. It involves no concentrating or focusing, and no trying to “empty the mind”. If you would like to know more about TM – go to this website Radiantbodyrestfulmind.com.
