Yoga is all about finding balance in your mind, body and spirit. Yoga suits all ages, and you can work at your own pace, to gradually build strength. About years 22 ago, I started Yoga classes with a teacher, who was the mother of my daughters’ best friend. I enjoyed Yoga every week at her peaceful acreage property, that was so calming. The best part of the class was the 15 minutes of meditation that followed. Listening to the gentle breeze and the birds chirping, I instantly felt peaceful and relaxed. This calmness followed through the day and kept me mentally alert.
I remember Vicky telling me why she embraced Yoga and became a teacher. She was in a serious car accident at 19 years, that left her with a bad back. She needed constant rehabilitation for 10 years. Fortunately, she started Yoga at 40, and it changed her life.
As we moved interstate for 10 years, and children grew into adults, we lost contact. I met Vicky again and needless to say I am back attending her Yoga Class. Her teaching style is more relaxed and calming, and I am enjoying Yoga again.
